Florence City Private Day Tour: the cradle of Art

Your chauffeur will be happy to take you to any site you choose, and if you would like to visit a museum, we will be happy to arrange advance purchase of tickets (mandatory). Since your chauffeur is not a licensed guide, he cannot enter the museum with you but we can arrange for a guide in advance. You may also intersperse your time in the vehicle with pleasant strolls down cobblestone lanes, through majestic squares and across ancient bridges, pausing along the way to admire the Santa Croce Church, where Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini are all buried, or in the Piazza del Duomo to survey the superb cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the second largest church in the world. You are now in the middle of the walking area, only five minutes from the best shopping area of the town, the Piazza della Signoria, with Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Museums and Ponte Vecchio, the famous 14th century covered bridge, home of Florence's goldsmith shops! Wander through the fashionable boutiques or sample a bit of Tuscan cuisine. 
Other attraction in Florence Accademia Gallery, home to the original statue of Michelangelo's David, or the huge Pitti Palace, a large, mainly Renaissance palace located on the south side of the Arno river, a short distance from the Ponte Vecchio. 
After a pause for lunch on your own (your chauffeur will gladly suggest some favorites!), you might like to do a little leather, gold or clothing shopping near Ponte Vecchio before your chauffeur drives you back to the port terminal of Livorno.
