The Solfatara is certainly the most interesting volcano of Campi Flegrei, a district to the north of Naples, consisting of about 40 volcanoes. It represents, with its extension of about 33 hectares, a nature refuge for an interesting walk with the presence of fumaroles, mofete and mud volcanoes, as well as forests and brush land. A quiet walk in an area rich in natural green. The visit at the Solfatara has ancient roots since it constituted a necessary step of the “Grand Tour”, the educational and entertaining travel that European aristocrats were already used to make between Italy and France in the eighteenth century.
